School Sculpture Installation PM

Included in the "200 Block" (P2) Landscape design was an area in front of the feature library window nominated for a "sculpture".

Little did we know the Principal (Viv Butcher) would opt for something quite so big! 3 large limestone blocks were required to be fixed together to complete the work standing approximate

Shaugn Briggs, Sculptor, was engaged, and the students produced the design for the final piece. All students at the school had the opportunity to help carve the limestone itself.

Landform Projects Ltd. were tasked with overseeing the engineering design (we developed the structural design & components, and had these checked and signed off by a structural engineer) and project manage the drilling of the limestone, and installation and assembly.

The project is a huge success, and represents the final phase of significant building at LPS. The School now looks forward to a future at full capacity of 750 pupils, all of whom will enjoy modern and versatile outdoor learning spaces.
